Hello Folks,

Our office is moving, so as part of the move, the MediaWiki server
wiki.erights.org will be offline for 1 to 2 days later this week.

The current plan is to shut down everything Thursday at noon, CDT.

The new IP address is planned to be 50.77.162.161, but this won't take
effect until Friday at the earliest.

I'll send out a reminder and more details as they develop.

As usual, please discuss any issues by sending an email to this list.
Now would be a good time to grab a copy of the current backup file...
just in case.

Hi Folks,

As a reminder, the wiki will be shut down in about an hour, and won't be
available again until Friday afternoon at the earliest.

I'll send out a notice with the new IP address when it is up and running
again. However, if MarkM (or whoever is responsible) wants to change the
DNS record right now, that's probably OK.

Thanks. wiki.erights.org is now changed. Or should be; of course, I can't
dereference it myself yet.

Just verified it works by going through an anonymizer that cache missed.

Hello All,
The wiki is back up at the 50.77.162.161 IP address. Let me know if you run into problems.
The wiki appears to be confused about its hostname; for example, the feed

http://wiki.erights.org/w/index.php?title=Special:Newpages&feed=atom

contains URLs starting with "http://50.77.162.161/".

When I had initially brought up the machine, the wiki wasn't working.
I think it was because of the Apache setup, which was referencing
wiki.erights.org. However, that name was not pointing to the new IP
address. And for whatever reason, even though I had the
wiki.erights.org name pointing to the right IP address in the
/etc/hosts file, it didn't seem to help.

Now that I think of it, I think OpenBSD has a resolution order
directive (similar to /etc/nsswitch.conf on Debian systems) and I do
*not* have a resolution order directive in the /etc/resolv.conf file.

So at the time (I was in a rush) I just changed the Apache config to
use the IP address instead. Now the DNS is resolving correctly, I
change change the config file back to the way it was.

Next time we'll be on a more up-to-date Ubuntu box, and hopefully
everything will be easier to configure. I haven't spent much time
trying to migrate the wiki to the new box; it has been crazy busy at
work recently.

BR,

James
